
Relations between Lebanon and Greece are truly privileged, going back some 35 centuries, and their relations have been mutually enriching. They share in the rich tapestry of East Mediterranean history, which has given them a common culture and a shared outlook. Today as neighbors they confront together the challenges of the contemporary world, which bring them closer than ever, especially in the context of the outreach of the European Union -- of which Greece is a member -- to the lands of the Mediterranean basin.
