Greek house Language Centre

The Greek House is a center for Greek language lessons and Greek culture, created in 1999, by 3 people with many combined years of experience in the fields of Greek language and Greek culture, who felt that the Northern suburbs were sorely lacking in an institution of this kind. The Greek House is in the heart of Kifissia, in a beautiful villa, just next to the train station. Courses run from Monday to Friday and on offer are both morning and evening classes, at all levels (Beginners to Proficiency) and all speeds (2 times a week up to Intensive-every day). Conversation classes are also offered. The groups are small so the teacher has time for each student and any problem they might have. All teachers are native Greeks and experienced professionals, with degrees in linguistics and/or philology, who truly love their job and their students.

Hellenic American Union - Modern Greek Language Program

In 1957, the Hellenic American Union was established in Athens. At the same time, it started offering organized Greek language courses, the first ever in Greece. Since then, many things have changed, but the Hellenic American Union Modern Greek Language Program is still being offered to over 800 students annually. Coming from an average of 85 countries, they attend its courses and they quickly learn how to read Greek magazines, write letters and essays, understand films and songs, and speak in Greek with their Greek friends, spouses, or even employers. Students use original textbooks, multimedia, and podcasts, whereas lessons are enhanced by cultural events and the use of Computer Labs and a 30,000-volume Library. The Program also offers courses in Conversation and Exam-prep courses for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Greek from the Hellenic Ministry of Education and the Centre for the Greek Language.
