Member in this club can be anyone who owns a bicycle and is an adult.There are no extra charges, for its members either now or in the future.So if you are lovers of cycling and you like the rides, then you have no other choice than declaring your interest to us, become a member and be a part of the action that our club has to offer.The trials that take place are extremely simple an easy so they can be followed by anyone. In order for someone to participate there is no need for him to be a professional athlete. The speed followed is on the average abilities of each one. No special equipment is necessary except a bicycle and lots of apetite for rides!

It could be said that we share a passion for Greece, its way of life, its people and of course its great mountain biking and cycling! The lush pine, oak and fir forests of central Greece are a world away from the haunted "lord of the rings" lunar landscape of southern Evia.The historical splendour of the Acropolis of Athens the very antithesis to the stone villages peppering the slopes of Mt Ochi and Mt Kilousi.Many, if not all the mountain villages we pass through, are becoming increasingly depopulated as younger members seek a future in the cities. For some, it is already to late as they stand empty and deserted. For others, families exist eking out a living from farming and herding the inevitable herds of jingling goats, of which you will encounter many on your trip!We try to help the local economy as much as we can and make a point of sourcing as much of our supplies as possible from these isolated areas, buying honey, yogurt, fresh fruit and vegetables whenever the opportunity arises. It has taken many years and literally thousands of miles exploring Greece in putting together our trips. As committed bikers ourselves we know what bikers look for when planning a holiday. The mountainbikers will delight in Parnithas natural single track and visiting isolated communities on the island of Evia. Road cyclists will relish the miles of open road and magnificent views that await as they head eastward to Ancient Olympia.

Friends of the Bicycle The wide variety of activities of the "Friends of the Bicycle" has in recent years been enhanced by participation in international organizations. In the picture you can see young Syrian women during the Peace Bicycle ride (Follow the Women, 16-25/4/2004) in the Middle East. Out of a total of around 200 women cyclists from all over the world, 18 were members of our organization. (photo.: Vassiliki Fazou). IN 1986, a small group of cyclists decided to found the "Friends of the Bicycle", aiming to promote the use of the bicycle as a means of everyday commuting and recreation, in the city as well as out of it. The team' s first meeting took place on the 17th December 1986 and included the publication of a poster-invitation to the cyclists of Athens. The team acquired legal status in 1989.
