Heavy Rain in Athens, Snow in Mountains
Heavy rainfalls and force winds have hitthe country from Sunday evening. In Attika, fire brigade department has received 52 emergency calls in Haidari, Holargos, Penteli, Tavros and Kallihtea. Rainfalls have caused power blackouts in Thivon Highway, Philothei, Agia Paraskevi and Varis-Koropiou.

 Ship departures from Piraeus and Rafina ports have been prohibited. At the same time, state mechanism is in alert and residents of fire strict areas are concerned over possible floods and landslides. Ilias and Pyrgos’ residents faced severe floods yesterday. Water exceeded 40 cm, while in Amphissa fire brigade department received 22 emergency calls. Intense weather conditions will abate today at noon, starting from west east. Rainfalls will continue however the next days. First snow appeared yesterday in mountainous areas of Macedonia
