History of the Black Light Theatre in Prague

Even though the origin of the black light theatre goes back many centuries, it has been lately revived and flourishes in Prague.
It is thought that the origin of Black Light theatre was in ancient China during the dynasty of Ming syn Liang under the government of the Emperor Vang-Pang.
The journey of this art form from its origin in China to Europe and then to Prague is a long story. What is known is that this technique has been perfected by many artists which use the effect of balck light theatre in their performances.
Black Light Theatre was introduced to the Czechs almost half a century ago and has been used by various artists to create new and original masterpieces.
During the 1950's in France, the black light theatre technique was used by the puppeteer George Lafaye. Later in the 1980's in Czechoslovakia artists used black light for adding a third dimension to the traditional two-dimensionality of an artist's canvas.
The technique is popular amongst people that like to enter into visual fantasies and like to experience visual sensations. Black Light Theatre as a genre has become people amongst people who like to take a break from our hyper-active technical world.
Black Light Theatre has become an inseperable part of the Czeck Culture for more than half a century.
Prague's Black Light Theatre performs for children as well as for adults. The technique is used in various cultural and social events, fashion shows, concerts and for other types of events.
Pragues Black Light Theatres have been performing for audiences worldwide including performances in many international theatre festivals and performances in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa and Australia.
