Visual Arts and Design at the British Council

Visual Arts and Design at the British Council
UK art and design is vibrant and innovative, controversial and thought-provoking. The UK contemporary art scene is never boring! We invite dialogue, promote exchange and offer opportunities for young artists. Each of our exhibitions is accompanied by educational activities and we organise an annual forum on contemporary art called UK Talks, to provide a theoretical framework for our audiences.

CITY STREETS PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
Our City Streets photography exhibition showcases the work of the *14 young photographers (18–30 years old) who won our City Streets Photography Competition last year, and went on to participate in a series of workshops led by acclaimed Greek photographer Nikos Economopoulos. The result? A photographic record of the new, multicultural face of Athens and of the stories of people living in the Greek capital – people who speak different languages and have diverse origins and cultures, but who all share a common reality in their new home.

*Argyropoulou Emmanuela, Canaj Enri, Georgas Evangelos, Katsarou Ioanna, Kourbela Anastasia, Matsoukas Fotis, Nemat Ullah Hassan, Nikoloba Marina, Posnakidou Chryssa, Simos Yannis, Stefanou Christos, Vidali Maria, Zavallis Achilleas, Zochiou Vanessa.

Artistic Director: Nikos Economopoulos.
