American Community School Selects Skyward |
Skyward's School Management System connects school personnel and families to benefit the educational process. Skyward, the industry-leading K-12 school management system announced today the selection of their solution by their fifth international customer. American Community Schools (ACS) in Athens, Greece will join over 1,200 school districts throughout the world using Skyward as their administrative software provider.
The American Community Schools of Athens was looking to replace their existing school management system that could no longer meet their needs. ACS heard about Skyward last fall at the Near East South Asia (NESA) educational conference in Bangkok, Thailand. Kevin McFerrin, Skyward Vice President of New Business, was at a dinner discussing Skyward installation processes with the Head Master of an international customer from Beirut, Lebanon. Seated at that same table was the Head Master of ACS and Mary Manos, Administrative Computer Services Coordinator at ACS.
McFerrin gave Manos and the ACS Head Master a detailed presentation at NESA including three webinar presentations with various Athens stake holders. Once ACS had all their questions answered, it was clear that Skyward was a perfect match to provide the school's student management system.
American Community Schools of Athens is a private, non-profit preK-12 school founded in 1945. For over 60 years, a parent-elected Board of Education has served the children of the American, international and local communities in Athens. With their curricular innovation, ACS Athens has embarked on a steady program that has allowed 90-100 percent of the senior class to have college acceptance to the school of their choice. By providing state-of-the-art education and facilities, American Community Schools of Athens has secured its position as the "premier international school of Greece."
The American Community Schools of Athens is preparing to implement Skyward immediately in order to use the system for scheduling the 2008-2009 school year. Project Management teams from Skyward are working hard to implement Skyward at ACS by coordinating training sessions, reports and timelines for the school's staff. "Skyward is thrilled to have Athens join our customer base. We look forward to helping establish a great educational foundation at ACS," said McFerrin.
