Winter Runway Reviews - MiRo out of Africa |
MiRo found inspiration in Africa for its new Fall Winter 2008/09 collection. With handmade prints and at time vivid colours, the duo has created a triumphant collection for both men and women. The ladies silhouettes in the collection sparkle as they step out on the town with their black and white cocktail dresses and black sequinned pants. One cocktail dress in black has a pleated finish and is worn with a voluminous coat in white with white fringes.
Athens, Greece – The fabrics used in a great deal of the pieces have been hand painted. The most appealing piece from them must easily be the white silk coat which has been perfectly hand painted with splotches of yellow and black. The coat is trimmed in black silk at the bottom, at the wrists of the sleeves. Its collar is finished with black sequins.
The pants for men are straight and allow one to see the physical definition of athletic, defined legs. Worn with a button down shirt and blazer, the are the perfect make for male sex appeal.
One must really appreciate the careful casting of models that the designers made for the collection. Too often on the runways of Mediterranean countries, the wrong models are cast in a show and largely for the wrong reasons. That diminishes the overall perception of the collection. Yet MiRo has escaped that flaw thanks to great cast of models, who brought out the best in this already beautiful and strong collection.
