Svetlin Vassilev was born in 14th of May 1971 in Rouse, Bulgaria. He studied in the Intermediate Academy of Arts "Ts. Lavrenov" in Plovdiv (1985-1990) and then in the National Academy of Fine Arts "N. Pavlovits" in Sophia (1990-1996). He first published in Bulgarian publishing houses such as Zlatno Pate, Arges, D. Ubenova, Columb92 and Icon, where he has illustrated more than 20 books. Since 1997 he lives and works in Greece with his wife Ada and their daughters During this time he has illustrated a wide variety of picture books, some of classical and some of modern authors. In 2004, he was awarded with the State Children’s Honouring Award for the illustration of Don Quixote.ILLUSTRATION EXHIBITIONThe Herakleidon Museum and Papadopoulos Publications present from

All children grow up. They learn early that they will grow and usually they are in a hurry to do so. All children except for one… And it’s natural that this child has become famous. Everyone knows Peter Pan. His story has traveled all over the world. However, how many people really know it?
Svetlin Vassilev returns to the Herakleidon Museum in order to revive the adventures of the eternal child, in an exhibition organized by Papadopoulos Publications on the occasion of the publication of the book “Peter Pan”. The book has been adapted by Maria Angelidou.

Papadopoulos Publications invite children of ages 8-12 years, on Sunday, 28/2/10 and on Sunday 14/3/10 at 11:30 hrs to the Herakleidon Museum so that they may participate in a fascinating voyage to the world of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Captain Hook.

Our little visitors will have the opportunity to illustrate every fascinating scene of the story, to admire the original works of the artist and to thumb through the classic book that we all know. Or do we really know it?
