Panathinaikos enjoyed one more evening of European glory as they defeated Roma 3-2 once again on Thursday, but this time in Italy, to reach the last 16 of the Europa League. The Greens won the tie 6-4 in aggregate and will be facing one of Salzburg and Standard Liege in the next round. Roma led after just over 10 minutes as John Arne Riise unleashed a powerful 30-metre shot that was deflected off the back of Panathinaikos defender Stergos Marinos and then the left post of keeper Alexandros Tzorvas to end up into the net.
