Theatre of the NO, Athens' premier English-speaking theatre, hosts  10th Anniversary Edition of Athens Tap Jam, celebrating with a special edition featuring internationally acclaimed tap dancer, choreographer, and director Derick K. Grant, on Friday 14th March at 22:30. As Greece’s only permanent event dedicated to improvised jazz and tap dancing, following in the footsteps of Smalls Jazz Club in New York. 

The evening will begin with a high-energy first set featuring Athens Tap Jam’s creators, guest artists, and the live house band, ensuring a thrilling fusion of music and dance. Following this, an open jam session will welcome dancers and musicians of all levels to take the stage. 

Derick K. Grant, a towering figure in the global tap dance community, has built an illustrious career spanning over three decades. He starred in Broadway’s Bring In ‘Da Noise, Bring In ‘Da Funk, received the prestigious Bessie Award. In 2021, he was honored as one of five tap dance legends commemorated with a U.S. postage stamp celebrating the legacy of tap dance in America. Grant has also collaborated with Só Dança on an innovative new line of professional tap shoes, further cementing his influence in the dance world.

Founded in 2014 by Natasha Chanta-Martin and Elina Vafeiadi, Athens Tap Jam has grown into a premier destination for jazz and tap dance enthusiasts, hosting a remarkable roster of world-class performers, including Sarah Reich, Max Pollak, Roxane Butterfly, Heather Cornell, Tony Romano, Lenny Sendersky, Thomas Wadelton, Pedro Consorte, and Dayna Szydrowski. Recognized for its contributions to the jazz tap scene in Europe, ATJ was recently honored by the Changing Times Tap Initiative of New York.

Halkidiki, March 4, 2025 – On the stunning peninsula of Sithonia, where the lush green slopes meet the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, Porto Carras Grand Resort is preparing to host the successful Porto Carras Pro-Am AEGEAN Mini Tour 2025, which will bring together golfers from all over the world. From May 20 to May 25, 2025, professional and amateur golfers will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique combination of competitive action and relaxation in one of the most spectacular landscapes in Greece.

The participants will be competing in a magnificent natural environment, in a luxury complex that offers exceptional facilities and unparalleled hospitality, ideal for those seeking top-class relaxation and sporting experiences.

The Porto Carras golf course, the only one in Northern Greece with 18 holes and a par 72, offers panoramic views of the AEGEAN Sea and the dense pine forests of Mount Itamos. Participants will enjoy an unforgettable game in an idyllic setting, including lush vineyards, three serene lakes, towering pine trees, and century-old olive trees.

After last year’s success, the upgraded course will once again host a Pro-Am tournament that is expected to be highly competitive, as professional athletes will have the opportunity to compete for total prize money of up to 16,500 euro, adding excitement and interest to the event.

The event’s first official practice session will take place on Wednesday, May 21, at Porto Carras Grand Resort, which was awarded as the top golf hotel in Greece at the Greek Hospitality Awards 2024. On Thursday, May 22, and Friday, May 23 the 1st and 2nd rounds of the Pro-Am tournament will be held respectively, while on Saturday, May 24 the action will conclude with the open tournament for professionals and the individual for amateurs.

For another year, the exciting FootGolf could not be missing from the activities of the event, offering a unique experience that combines the magic of football with the technique of golf. With the support of the Official Airline of the tournament, AEGEAN, the legendary Greek footballers who made history by winning Euro 2004, thrilling all of Europe, return to the field, this time with a different goal: to shoot the football balls into the specially designed holes of FootGolf!

Odysseas is a stand-up comedian based in Athens. He performs regularly in both English and Greek, and has gigged at Losantzele and Mic Drop comedy clubs in Athens, as well as theater venues and festivals all around Greece.

Odysseas was one of the very first comedians to play at the Athens English Comedy Club back in 2019, and you will have since caught him on our stage regularly doing spots and MCing shows, while in 2024 we hosted Odysseas' work in progress show 'TERRIBLE THOUGHTS' - how time has passed!

Odysseas was one half of the (Greek) double-bill show “Two people telling jokes” (“Δύο που λένε αστεία”) with comedian Alexandros Paspardanis at Calderone bar, which was consistently sold out for two seasons, and where he is now presenting his Greek solo show as well!

From Odysseas you can expect comedy with a surrealist twist, commenting on topics ranging from family and religion, to death, and driving tickets. He's got it all!

A fast-paced, razor-sharp satire, this contemporary play humorously and sarcastically exposes the dark side of workplace competition and the human need for validation and dominance. Offering a hilarious and incisive exploration of power, ambition, and male desire, the play premieres on Friday, March 7th, and runs every Friday and Monday at 20:00.

This two-character comedy delves into the absurd and often dark dynamic between a self-satisfied, grandiose, and amoral boss and his insecure, ethical, yet deeply unhappy assistant. Set within the confines of a single office, the play becomes a battleground where power, ambition, and morality collide in a high-stakes game of manipulation and survival.

With surreal touches and influences from the Vaudeville theatrical genre, the play evokes the subversive comedies of the Marx Brothers, with razor-sharp dialogue and situations that flirt with chaos, creating an explosive effect. Featuring razor-sharp dialogue and chaotic situations that create an explosive mix of laughter and deeper reflection.

The play, awarded at the InterPlay International Play Festival and with the Auricle Award, has been successfully staged in the U.S. and across Europe. The Athens production marks the 12th global presentation of the play, which recently premiered in Finland.
