Aka | ARCHITECTURE KIDS ATHENS presents the workshop of architectural design for kids  “The same and the different: Let’s make Polykatoikias” this Saturday the 29th of February 2020.

The "polykatoikia" is the predominant housing typology of the Athenian urban fabric. Almost everybody lives in one! But what do we actually know about the historical context of its origin? Or about the legal system that made it possible? In this workshop, kids will familiarize themselves with significant examples of the Athenian "polykatoikia" and they will discover its basic architectural elements. Through their own constructions, they will find out about the versatility and robustness of this type and how to produce a variety of solutions with a seemingly limited set of elements.
