Our common home
Action for children taking place at the Municipal Market of Kypseli, as part of Refugee Week Greece, by the Babel Day Center. Each child participating will have the opportunity to depict themselves with colors on a piece of paper and then place themselves in their favorite room of a large house. All the 'miniatures' of the children will be placed inside the same house, coexisting, interacting, and sharing. The action is aimed at children aged 4-10. Let's Move!
Action for adults taking place at the Municipal Market of Kypseli, as part of Refugee Week Greece, by the Babel Day Center. The rhythmic expression group of the Babel Day Center opens its doors for the first time to anyone who wants to try the exercises, games, and songs studied by members of the Babel Day Center with the dance anthropologist Natasha Martin and other invited artists. Through exercises, rhythmic games, melodies, and dance therapy exercises, we will become a group, socialize, and connect better with our bodies, ourselves, and those around us. The event is linked to the theme of the refugee week, as we seek to find the home within us, in the body and in the environment we are in now. The action, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, is accessible and open to everyone over 18 years old.

The pioneering educational music program of El Sistema Greece in collaboration with Blend Mishkin takes place from June 25 to 27 and brings together 30 children and adolescents aged 10-16 from every part of Athens, without any distinction or limitation, with or without musical knowledge. At the grand closing concert of the program, with the participation of all its students, the emerging talents of hip hop will take the stage and present their original musical creations to the audience, their skills in scratching and breakdance through an impressive choreography, as well as in graffiti through the work they will create and will be the scenery of the concert. Registrations Open For Navarino Challenge 2024
The sports tourism and wellness event Navarino Challenge returns for its 12th year, from October 18-20, 2024, at Costa Navarino and Pylos. With the global message “sports unites people” the event will once again bring people of all ages and abilities, amateurs and professionals together with Olympians and world champions. The three-day schedule will include more than 55 activities held at two of the destination’s four hotels, W Costa Navarino and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino.
Gymnastics with Petrounias, Millousi, Hatziefstathiou, Tantalidis
The event’s schedule includes the Olympic sport of gymnastics. Specifically, gymnastics lessons for adults will be held by the Olympic gold and bronze medalist on rings Lefteris Petrounias, the 3-time Olympian Vasiliki Millousi, and the gymnastics champions Georgios Hatziefstathiou and Antonis Tantalidis, with the support of Gymnastics Stars. Similarly, gymnastics classes for children will be conducted by Lefteris Petrounias and Vasiliki Millousi, with the support of Gymnastics Stars.
Football Clinics with the European Champion Kostas Katsouranis
For the first time, Navarino Challenge will welcome the European Champion with the Greek national team at Euro 2004, Kostas Katsouranis. Running has been a staple of Navarino Challenge since its inception. Participants can run in one of Greece’s top Half Marathons, the Navarino Challenge Half Marathon by The North Face, alongside the Greek- American ambassador of Greek tourism and ultramarathoner Constantine “Dean” Karnazes. Famous for its unique shape resembling the Greek letter omega (Ω) and recognized as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, Voidokilia Beach is an ideal running destination. It is the only trail run in 2 Greece that combines soil, sand, and asphalt. Summer Evenings At Lycabettus Municipal Theater
Program | Part A May – August
The Lycabettus Municipal Theater is back, ready to offer unforgettable nights under the Athenian sky! From late May to October, for more than 50 evenings, the hill of Lycabettus will be filled with sounds and melodies from renowned names in the Greek and international music scenes, as well as top-quality, high-aesthetic performances. With energy and passion, the performers will create emotional nights, connecting with the audience to form lasting memories at one of the city's most beautiful and iconic spots, turning each evening into a unique experience.
In the first full season of the new era of Lycabettus, the program curated by the Technopolis City of Athens opened on Wednesday, May 22, with the melodic techno vibes and spectacular visuals of Mathame, the Italian techno duo of brothers Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli. Known as one of the most sought-after acts in global dance music, they will present a spectacular AV show with guests Lyke and SONA. On Saturday, May 25, Alexandros Tsouvelas, sharper and more battle-ready than ever, will celebrate his 10-year presence in stand-up comedy with many guests.
One of the most recognizable voices and important personalities in rock and metal music of the last thirty years, Corey Taylor, will grace Lycabettus on Tuesday, May 28, with the greatest hits of his career as the lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour, as well as his solo work. On Saturday, June 1, Adriatique will take to the decks, transforming the hill into a vast dance floor. Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer, the successful Swiss duo, will deliver an extended set alongside Echonomist, Nick Jojo, and Human Rias.
One of the most touching nights this summer at Lycabettus will be Monday, June 3. Friends, collaborators, and companions of Lavrentis Machairitsas, including Giannis Zouganelis, Christos Thivaios, Giannis Kotsiras, Dimitra Papiou, Miltos Paschalidis, Dionysis Tsaknis, and many more, will remember and honor the creator who left an indelible mark on Greek rock with a tribute concert titled "But I Still Exist, I'm Still Here."
The unique Thanasis Papakonstantinou will connect with his devoted audience with three consecutive nights, as his summer tour, featuring Martha Frintzila, Giannis Litainas, and Alexandros Ktistakis, stops at Lycabettus on Friday, June 7, Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9. On Monday, June 10, Marios Frangoulis and Giota Nega will present "Love Stories," their first on-stage meeting, performing iconic songs from their discographies and classics from renowned composers and performers.
In the summer of 2004, Archive performed for the first time at the Lycabettus Theater. This year, 20 years later, the pioneers of progressive rock return on Friday, June 14, to rekindle old memories and create new ones. On Wednesday, June 19, one of Greece's top rappers, Eisvoleas, will celebrate 25 years in music with a full band, combining rap with rebetiko, blues, and Mediterranean sounds.
On Friday, June 21, Queen Symphonic will deliver a concert-celebration featuring the most iconic hits of the legendary band Queen, performed by the lead singers of the "We Will Rock You" rock musical from London's West End. Starting Tuesday, June 25, the Rockwave Nights will bring thirteen nights of rock to the top of Lycabettus. The series begins with virtuoso violinist Ara Malikian, who will take us on an unforgettable musical journey blending classical structures with Mediterranean sounds and Armenian folk melodies infused with rock and pop tones.
On Wednesday, June 26, Giannis Aggelakas and the 100°C will present "Electric Chair," a musical experience featuring songs from his entire career and soundtracks he's written for films, reinterpreted in a new way. On Thursday, June 27, the enduring Pyx Lax will deliver a concert with their greatest hits, wrapped in memories created at this historic theater.
The Rockwave Nights continue with Greek bands that have been missed by their fans. Raining Pleasure, the top Greek English-speaking band, reunites on Friday, June 28, to reconnect with old fans and meet new ones. The next night, Saturday, June 29, Rotting Christ, Greece's biggest metal band, will celebrate 35 years in music with a unique show prepared exclusively for this live performance. On Sunday, June 30, Hat Trick will bring their rock 'n' roll energy from Thessaloniki for a one-of-a-kind concert.
On Monday, July 1, Alkinoos Ioannidis will reunite with his historic band for an electric celebration full of beloved songs, unexpected covers, and creative improvisation. On Tuesday, July 2, the dazzling showman MIKA will arrive with a vibrant pop dance party, and on Wednesday, July 3, Sweden's foremost progressive metal band, OPETH, will share the stage with modern progressive pioneers Leprous in a psychedelic performance. The first part of the Rockwave Nights concludes on Thursday, July 4, with Pan Pan and Years Of Youth in an "electronic utopia," a show resembling a love letter to Athens from its most iconic hill.
On Friday, July 5th, Evanthia Remboutsika ascends to the theater with an enthralling company: magicians, jugglers, stilt walkers, acrobats, street artists, and of course, the skilled musicians who are her steadfast companions in the "Evanthia's Carousel," for a night imbued with the romantic spirit of another era. The spectacular "The Wall - Pink Floyd's Rock Opera" comes to Athens for the first time on Sunday, July 7th, and Monday, July 8th. Influential rock musicians, renowned singers backed by the legendary band, and solo dancers of contemporary dance compose a performance that blends Pink Floyd's music, dance, song, and archival footage from Alan Parker's eponymous 1979 film.
Hans Zimmer and John Williams, two titans of cinematic music, will resonate at the Lycabettus in a concert featuring the best soundtracks of all time. Beloved melodies, exceptional lighting, and projections set the stage for the high-standard show "The Music of Hans Zimmer VS John Williams," which we'll enjoy for two nights, on Tuesday, July 9th, and Wednesday, July 10th. On Friday, July 12th, the charismatic Asaf Avidan with his unique voice and tremendous theatricality arrives with his Ichnology Solo Tour, while Jacob Collier, the "colorful Mozart of Gen Z" as dubbed by The New York Times, takes the stage at Lycabettus on Saturday, July 13th.
Fever Ray, the band that glorifies the grotesque, making it irresistibly charming, comes on Sunday, July 14th, with a unique live music performance proving that musical audacity and imagination know no bounds. Two more nights follow as part of Rockwave: on Monday, July 15th, Pink Martini with the captivating China Forbes on vocals treat their beloved Greek audience to a heady cocktail of classic sounds, Latin, traditional pop, and jazz melodies, while on Tuesday, July 16th, French soul diva Imany and Voodoo Cello, the album that bears exclusively her personal seal from conception to execution, engage in a breathtaking dialogue between a unique voice and eight cellists.
Continuing with Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit: these three epic stories-productions of the small and big screen will come to life on Friday, July 19th, in a spectacular concert with projections, special effects, impressive lighting, and the renowned scores performed by the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra.
On Sunday, July 21st, the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra presents a retrospective of its seventy-year journey, a tribute to its creators, the great musicians who served it, as well as to the composers, orchestrators, singers, actors, and soloists who honored it with their collaboration. "Swan Lake" with Tchaikovsky's masterful music, one of the best and most popular ballets of all time, arrives on Monday, July 22nd, with a fairytale spectacle featuring two great names in dance, the Principal Dancers of the Berlin State Ballet Iana Salenko and Dinu Tamazlacaru, as well as the Romae Capital Ballet. The Acropolis Museum Participates In The “Green Cultural Routes”
On Sunday 26 May 2024, the Acropolis Museum participates in the pan-hellenic cultural action titled “Green Cultural Routes”, organized by the Ministry of Culture, offering its visitors the thematic presentation “Exploring nature’s elements at the Acropolis Museum”. Protagonists will be special objects of the Museum that ‘speak’ about the four elements of nature that were reflected into art in different ways. Beliefs, myths, philosophical concerns, as well as simple daily needs find their expression in shape and image in elaborate lamps, mythical demons and ritual vessels. Museum archaeologists tell stories made of fire, earth, air and water -sometimes destructive and other times life-giving - sounding the alarm about the negative interaction between man and nature.

Porto Carras Pro-Am Aegean Mini Tour With Participants From 12 Countries
Professionals and amateur golfers from Europe, the ideal weather, the impressive golf course of Porto Carras, and the excellent facilities of Porto Carras Grand Resort, created a unique setting for the international golf tournament Porto Carras Pro-Am Aegean Mini Tour, held from May 14 to 18, 2024, on the peninsula of Sithonia, in Halkidiki.
In one of the most beautiful and idyllic landscapes in Greece, and on the only 18-hole par 72 golf course in Northern Greece, overlooking the Aegean Sea and the stunning pine forests on Mount Itamos, golfers from twelve countries participated, representing Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Greece.
The golf tournament contributed to the promotion and development of golf tourism in Northern Greece, with visitors enjoying the perfect destination while playing golf amidst the estate’s vineyards, the impressive three lakes of the course, pine trees, and olive trees, while also participating in many parallel activities.
FootGolf with the Legends 2004 Team
With the support of the tournament’s Official Airline, AEGEAN, the exciting FootGolf event was held. Football legends and European champions such as Zisis Vryzas, Fanis Katergiannakis, Angelos Basinas, Vasilis Tsiartas, Takis Fyssas, and Kostas Chalkias, who won Euro 2004 with the Greek national team, as well as the international football player Nikos Lymperopoulos, visited the Porto Carras Grand Resort. Among them, many internationals were invited to place a football into holes larger than those found in golf with as few strokes as possible. The rules of the game closely resembled those of golf, promising an entertaining sport blending elements of football and golf, ensuring a delightful experience filled with fun and joy. The international footballers had the opportunity to enjoy the facilities of Porto Carras, which included participating in a golf clinic, taking a boat trip, and experiencing a wine tasting at Greece’s largest organic vineyard, Domaine Porto Carras.
The Golf Competition
The Porto Carras Pro-Am Aegean Mini Tour schedule at the award-winning Porto Carras Grand Resort, recognized as the top golf hotel in Greece, began on Wednesday, May 15, with a practice round for all participants, followed by a Welcome Cocktail by Domaine Porto Carras in the evening. The golfers enjoyed the amazing cocktails by Domaine Porto Carras and the refreshing mocktails by Souroti. On Thursday, May 16, the 1st round of the Pro-Am took place, and on Friday, May 17, the 2nd round followed. On Saturday, May 18, the competition concluded with the Open Tournament for the professionals and the Individual for the amateurs.
During the games, golfers had the opportunity to enjoy high-quality coffee from Miele coffee machines, protein bars from Lidl, Souroti water, Sknipa beers, traditional Greek souvlaki, and fruits at the registration area, and refreshment stations on the golf course.

Tournament Winners
The schedule officially concluded with the Awards Gala Dinner, which included the awarding ceremony to the winners in both team and individual categories. The event was hosted by the accredited journalist Efi Alevizou. During the night, an honorary award was presented in memory of the late former president of Aegean Airlines, Mr. Theodoros Vassilakis, for his contribution to the development of golf in Greece. The award was given from the Golf and Sports Manager of Porto Carras Grand Resort, Mr. Panagiotis Sabaziotis to the General Legal Counsel of Aegean, Ms. Katia Avramidou. Another honorary award was given to the Greek national team of Legends 2004, the European champions of 2004. The award was presented by the General Manager of Porto Carras Grand Resort, Mr. Konstantinos Anglopoulos to the president of Legends 2004, Takis Fyssas.
In the Pro-Am tournament teams’ competition, the champion team was composed of Papadopoulos, Avramidou, Maltezakis, Piperas. The second-place team included Christos Nikopoulos, Gkotsis, Werner, and Kalogiros, while the third-place team featured Themis Ginis, Fistrek, Hoppen, Fasois. In the special team awards, the top team during the first-day consisted of Sofronis, Bountis, Van Duijne, Fragistas, while the top team on the second day was Elli, Marian Abrashev, Alexander Abrashev, Tourgaidis.
In the Pro-Am tournament teams’ competition, the champion team was composed of Papadopoulos, Avramidou, Maltezakis, Piperas. In the Amateur Net category, Anastasios Gkotsis was first, Philippos Piperas was second, and George Karakasis was third. The Longest Drive award for the first day was received by Christian Werner, and the second day by Anastasios Gkotsis, while in the Closest To The Pin category, Petros Tourgaidis won the first day, and Michalis Archangelitis the second.
The guests enjoyed a specially designed menu with unique savory and sweet “golf” selections, cocktails, and mocktails by Souroti, and excellent wines by Domaine Porto Carras. In addition to trophies, the tournament winners received special gifts from Domaine Porto Carras and Sknipa.
Wine Tasting for a Good Cause
The largest unified organic vineyard in Greece, Domaine Porto Carras, supported the event as a Platinum Sponsor and organized two Wine Tasting Sessions for the event’s guests on Thursday, May 16. Participants had the opportunity to experience firsthand Domaine Porto Carras and taste the exquisite varieties of the historic vineyard. In addition, Porto Carras Pro-Am Aegean Mini Tour, with the support of Domaine Porto Carras, reinforced the Association of Parents of Children with Neoplastic Diseases of Northern Greece “LAMPSI”.
During the two Wine Tasting Sessions and at the Awards Gala Dinner, participants had the opportunity to contribute to this cause. The total amount collected by the event was donated to the “LAMPSI” association, which, among other things, ensures the excellent medical and pediatric care of children suffering from malignant diseases, for the creation, organization, staffing, and equipment of specialized oncology, hematology units, providing moral, social, and financial support for the treatment, care, education, and social reintegration of children and providing all possible assistance, information, and other forms of support to the families of sick children. Golf Lessons for Beginners
Finally, on Saturday, May 18, non-golfers along with the Legends 2004 team participated in a Golf Clinic. There, they learned the basic principles of the Olympic sport of golf and had fun improving their flexibility, concentration, and mental health.
