The Meet Market – the most beloved mobile pop-up market in Athens – is back for 10 days in a row, this December 9 – 18 at the Old Depot Amaxostasio in Gazi.

It was back in 2007 when we opened our doors for the very first time at a little bar called K44 in Gazi, with 20 participating brands.  Since then, 15 years have passed, and with many slow, steady and consistent steps, the Meet Market has grown, evolved, expanded and made many new friends and family members along the way.  This December, we will feature more than 150 Greek brands of talented designers, artists, producers and collectors – divided into 2 lineups – turning the industrial roof of the Old Depot into a Christmas extravaganza!

So what can you expect?  Our first line-up of creators and creations will take part from Friday December 9th till Sunday December 11th. Then we’ll switch it up with our second line-up of participants from Monday December 12th till Sunday December 18th.  Come explore clothing, jewelry, accessories, care & wellness products, art & home deco, children’s items, delicious goodies, Christmas gifts and of course street food, Glühwein, artisanal coffee, locally brewed beers and plenty of alcohol to get the mood merry.

Faithfully following our motto “First we meet, then we market”, there’s not just shopping on the agenda.  Beyond the stalls, you’ll find plenty to do and see – and for those of you who join us on the weekdays, there will be a cup of warm free Glühwein waiting for you.

Join us for non-stop dj sets with alternating DJs and plenty of free interactive games for kids including workshops in grafitti and cinema, facepainting and acrobatic adventures.  And we haven’t forgotten about the big kids of course. Together with illustradays, we will feature “Drink & Draw” events hosted by special guests throughout the course of the 10 days.  Make sure you stop by the central info point to take a chance at winning free prizes including our grand prize raffle, for 4 lucky winners who will each win a huge holiday basked filled with products from all our makers.

And DO LOOK UP, because you’ll find a very special exhibition of handmade dream catchers from Yannis Prassas “Dreamcatcher’s Project” that will fill the venue’s ceiling with color and wishes for the new year.  Each Saturday, he’ll also be hosting workshops so you can come and learn to make them yourself.  More details on our lineup of activites, exhibitors and djs below.

Are you ready to rock and roll with Santa?

Then come celebrate this special holiday season together like real rock stars! Christmas is just around the corner, and that means it's time again for Santa Claus and his elves to welcome young and adults this year for the long-awaited Breakfast with Santa, so they can experience the ultimate Christmas atmosphere along with many other surprises!

For two unique Sundays, on December 11 & 18, the Hard Rock Cafe will be waiting for its little friends and their whole family for a special Christmas experience from 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm, for a unique festive Breakfast With Santa. If the little rock stars are on Santa's list this year they will have the opportunity to choose from a range of activities such as taking souvenir photos with Santa, but also exploring their creative potential with activities such as face painting, and decorating cookies. The entrance fee for each child will be €15 including the children's meal.

Also on the second Sunday (December 18), the writer Efi Argyropoulou will be there from 14.00 pm to 15.00 pm. Our little friends will get into the Christmas spirit for good, as they will have the opportunity to present and tell them her new fairy tale, "I want to sleep forever in each other's arms", which is published by Hibiscus Publications. At the same time, adults will be able to enjoy a variety of tastes from the delicious comfort food dishes offered by the Hard Rock Cafe menu.

Winter Garden City Lounge of Hotel Grande Bretagne brings its grandiose brunch experience to the heart of the city. Weekends at Winter Garden, curated by Executive Chef Asterios Koustoudis, returns featuring a renewed menu with fresh baked goods created daily basis in the new in-house bakery of the historic hotel. 

The journey begins with a lavish breadbasket including handmade sourdough creations inspired by talented Pastry Chef Alexandros Koufas. Freshly baked butter and chocolate croissants, brioche with oriental spices and fermented baguettini make a perfect match with the local fresh butter, homemade jams, vanilla and choco-hazelnut praline flavored creams as well as the Greek strained yogurt. These elegant delicacies excellently accompany a cup of coffee or tea or a glass of fresh juice.

Life is inherently stressful, especially when you live in the big city. We often experience unpleasant, boring, even miserable moments that we would rather avoid. We seek escape from them through activities that take the mind and body away from problems and everyday life. Methods of escape vary with each individual, including travel, reading, music, music, sports, dancing, gardening, as well as drugs and alcohol, aimless walking through the city, casual sex, perhaps even the pleasure of doing absolutely nothing. Exploring what leads us to relaxation, joy and daydreaming, the small doses of happiness in the city, FokiaNou Art Space, continuing its January group exhibitions with Athens as its subject, held an open call asking artists to showcase the most characteristic Athenian expressions of escapism, in any medium.

FokiaNou Art Space is an artist-run project space in the intimacy of a small apartment in an old building in the center of Athens. The space encourages collaborative creative efforts between Greek and foreign artists, thereby promoting and supporting the local art community. Since 2016, under the direction and curatorship of visual artists Mary Cox and Panagiotis Voulgaris, over 50 exhibitions have been held, as well as workshops and talks.

FokiaNou Art is pleased to present “Collage Remix 2”, a follow-up to the popular 2022 collage exhibition held at FokiaNou.  Seventeen artists, using a variety of media, from paper, to magazines to found objects combined with drawing and painting, were invited to exhibit their new collage work.  Because of the juxtapositions used in collage, the medium has the wonderful ability to avoid both linear thinking and traditional binary dichotomies, while describing the world in a multifaceted way—not a small feat for a democratic, low-tech medium accessible by most people.
